Car operation in winter has its nuances and inconveniences associated with the deterioration of road conditions and lower temperatures. Especially difficult for newly-made car owners who are not yet familiar with the insidiousness of winter operation.  They turned to experts to find out how to properly prepare the car for the winter, so as not to receive unpleasant surprises in the future.

Tires

First of all, experts advise not to delay the "re-shoe" of the wheels in winter tires. Attempts to save money in this matter lead only to problems with the police and the highest chance of getting into an accident. Therefore, the first thing to do before the arrival of winter is to put winter tires on the car.

Heating

Even before the onset of severe cold weather, you should check the condition of the cooling and heating systems. So, in winter it is very important to have a properly working thermostat, otherwise, the motor will not be able to reach the operating temperature, and it will be cold and uncomfortable in the cabin. It is also advisable to replace the cabin filter, which, when heavily soiled, degrades the operation of the "stove".

Windows and Doors

Often with a serious drop in temperature, the car's interior begins to be blown with cold air, which is why even a properly working "stove" does not save. Most often this is due to worn door seals and improperly functioning windows. In the summer, this is imperceptible, but in the winter, even small gaps in the doorways and side windows make themselves felt.

Battery

At low temperatures, increased demands are placed on the battery and the electrical system of the machine as a whole. If the battery is already quite worn out - it is better to replace it with a new one. In the presence of spurious currents and self-discharge, it will not be superfluous to install a mass disconnector. It is inexpensive, easy to install, and at the same time, it will not allow the battery to discharge during parking.

Useful tool

The winter road is unpredictable, so you need to stock up on some useful things. So, in the trunk, you need to have a good tow rope, a folding shovel, a reflective vest and wires for "lighting" from another car. A bright lamp in case of a forced stop on the road can also become out of place.

Experts also remind that in winter it is necessary to be especially careful when driving, to refrain from sharp maneuvers and, if possible, to adhere to the principles of mutual driver assistance on the road.
